SC/ST CELL

INTRODUCTION

The University Grants Commission (UGC) has given priority to the downtrodden students and staffs during IX plan period and given direction to all the universities to establish SC/ST Cell.

The SC/ST Cell at Bhupal Nobles’ University Udaipur was constituted. After the establishment of the Cell in the University, it specifically concentrated on the welfare of the SC/ST students and staffs. The main aim of the Cell is to monitor the guidelines issued by the MHRD, the UGC and by the government of Rajasthan from time to time. The Cell ensures the effective implementation of the reservation policies in the University admission to students in various courses of studies, accommodation in the hostels, appointments to the teaching and non-teaching posts, and allotment of quarters, establishment of Book Bank in the University.


OBJECTIVVES

  • To implement the reservation policy for SCs/STs in the University.
  • To collect data regarding the implementation of the policies in respect of admissions, appointments to teaching and non-teaching positions in the University, and in the affiliating colleges and analysis the data showing the trends and changes towards fulfilling the required quota.ii.   • To take such follow up measures for achieving the objectives and targets laid down for the purpose by the Government of India and the UGC.
  • To implement, monitor and evaluate continuously the reservation policy in University and plan measures for ensuring effective implementation of the policy and programme of the Government of India.

FUNCTIONS

  • To circulate Government of India and Commission’s decisions and to collect regularly, on an annual basis, information regarding course-wise admission to candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes in the University for different course, in forms prescribed, by a stipulated date, and to take follow up action, where required.
  • To circulate Government of India orders and Commission’s decisions and to collect information in respect of appointment, training of these communities in teaching and non-teaching posts in the Universities and Colleges, in suitable forms by a stipulated date and take follow up action where required.• To circulate Government of India orders and Commission’s decisions and to collect information in respect of appointment, training of these communities in teaching and non-teaching posts in the Universities and Colleges, in suitable forms by a stipulated date and take follow up action where required.
  • To collect reports and information regarding the Government of India orders on the various aspects of education, training and employment of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Candidates, for evolving new policies or modifying existing policy by the Commission.
  • To analyze the information collected above and prepare reports and digests for onward transmission to the Ministry of Human Resource Development/University Grants Commission and such other authorities as may be required
  • To deal with representations received from Scheduled Castes and Scheduled tribes candidate regarding their admission, recruitment, promotion and other similar matters i the University.
  • To function as Grievances Redressal Cell for the Grievances of SC/ST students and employees of the University and render them necessary help in solving their academic as well as administrative problems.

GRIEVANCE REDRESSAL

    The SC/ST students and Employees can approach the SC/ST Cell for redressal of any of their grievance(s) regarding academic, administrative or social nature. The Liaison Officer of Cell process their complaints, meets the concerned students and staff, to understand their problem and takes necessary action and/or renders them necessary advice/help to resolve the matter.

    PROCEDURE TO FILE A COMPLAINT:

    A written complaint may be submitted to the Liaison Officer, SC/ST Cell. Any student and employee (including contractual, casual and temporary) of institute can approach the Cell.

    An online form in website of institute under SC/ST Cell heading is available, any student/employee belonging to SC/ST may submit his/her complaint if any.
